Brand Feature: Show Off
It’s the entrepreneur’s dream – taking a hobby that you’re passionate about and turning it into your dream business.
Well that’s exactly what Elizabeth did with her business, Sunshine Canyon! Elizabeth makes custom embroidery bedsheets that are edgy and colorful – a stark change from grandma’s version.
Her custom embroidered bed linens are totally unique and made-to-order, reducing waste and overproduction. She renders designs by hand intensive machine embroidery and bespoke linens are created by skilled craftspeople based in the USA for a one-of-a-kind result.
She is constantly evolving, finding inspiration all around her, and updating the sheets to meet her ideal clients’ needs.
Elizabeth needed branded photos to show her unique offerings and use for her social media and website.
Brand Vibe
Elizabeth is super artistic and loves color, and Sunshine Canyon is a very light and airy brand with a touch of vintage style. We landed on a vibe full of color and craftiness with touches of vintage, timeless, and eclectic elements.
For our location, we chose to shoot at a natural light studio that offered a clean and simple backdrop and allowed us to highlight her products and colorful brand vibe.
While the unique designs of the linens were really the star of the show, we also wanted to ensure Elizabeth – as the face of the business – was featured in some classic headshot-style photos as well as supporting her product photos.
Planning Phase
Elizabeth and I spent a lot of time together planning and problem-solving, as Elizabeth was still in the process of defining her brand and offerings when we worked together. After doing some homework and completing the brand questionnaire, we worked together to identify her brand voice and vibe over coffee. This was a true collaboration from start to finish – by working together, we were able to create a story that felt true to Elizabeth and her ever-evolving brand.
Elizabeth is a collector of all things vintage and quirky; she is the prop queen! After sharing some inspiration images, we dialed in the props that brought in her personality, pops of color, and uniqueness to showcase her brand and products.
Bedsheets aren't an easy product to photograph creatively, so we took our time with planning, brainstorming, and photographing. We had the luxury of having several shorter photoshoots over several months, so we were able to evolve ideas over time.
We wanted to capture photos to showcase her products, the process of how her products are made, and bring in some personality as well!
The Results
Elizabeth was super happy with her final photos! She said she felt like her vision came through (yay!) and she was excited to post her photos (yay!).
