Brand Feature: Be a Badass

As a brand photographer, every project brings its own unique energy and story to tell. When I had the opportunity to collaborate with MELT Prjct and its awesome owner Angelica, I knew this session would be something special. 

MELT Prjct is a badass gym that focuses on strength training and boxing in a welcoming, encouraging environment. Clients are encouraged to be their best selves in and out of the gym while celebrating wins along the way.

From the moment we connected, I could sense Angelica’s vision, her passion, and her unwavering commitment to creating a space where strength and community intersected seamlessly.

Process

The usual LoveJoy Photography process is to fill out the contact form, hop on a call to ensure we’re a great fit, then get into the planning of your half- or full-day brand photoshoot. In this case, I had met Angelica during a previous photoshoot, so we were able to skip the first couple of steps and get right into the planning process. 

Once we had the vibe and vision established, it was photoshoot day! Stepping into MELT Prjct, I immediately understood why it had become more than just a gym to its members – it was a welcoming, motivating space for all who arrived. 

The atmosphere crackled with energy, determination, and a sense of camaraderie that was palpable. As I set up my equipment and began to capture the action, I was struck by the raw power and beauty of the moments unfolding before me. Did I mention one of the participants was seven months pregnant?!

I aimed to capture the full spectrum of the MELT Prjct experience. Every shot was an opportunity to showcase not just physical strength, but also inner resilience, beauty, and grace – qualities that Angelica embodies and instills in each of her clients.

The Vibe + Vision

Sometimes there’s a really clear vision from a business owner, and when there’s not, we work together to figure it out! Angelica happened to have a very clear vision for her brand photos and usage. Our goal was to capture updated photos of her space and a class in action to use for social media and the MELT Prjct website.

With a clear vibe and vision already in place, we were able to get right into the nitty gritty.

To capture the essence of her personality and her gym, we sat down together and meticulously crafted a shot list, ensuring that every image would not only reflect the physical space but also the spirit of the gym and its members.

The vibe: Strong, badass, confident, moody, encouraging, community-oriented, beautiful, authentic

Final Results

Together, we captured the heart and soul of MELT Prjct – the strength and connection of the community. Brand photography isn’t just photos of a space or headshots of the owner, brand photography means capturing personality and vision. The final images turned out awesome and gave the MELT Prjct audience a taste of what being a part of the community was like.
