Brand Feature: Get Creative

Oh, the places we get to meet cool people!

I met Melissa as a client of her company, Lov’d, while doing a jean fitting session. We hit it off and when she asked what I did for a living, we got to talking about custom brand photography.

Melissa is one of those awesome humans who was able to take her passions – fashion and personalized styling – and turn it into a thriving business. How cool!

For those looking to invest in vintage denim, Melissa offers an array of curated pieces and customized one-on-one vintage denim fitting experiences in a comfortable environment. She has a knack for finding the perfect fit, capturing her clients’ individuality, and crafting transformative experiences.

Photography Needs

In addition to the usual need for website photos and social media images, Melissa needed brand photos ASAP as she was being featured in two local publications.

She creates a custom and curated experience for those looking to invest in vintage denim. She creates an environment where you feel comfortable and find you a killer pair of jeans. She has a photographic memory.

Brand Vibe

Melissa is the queen of vintage denim. As the creator of Lov’d, her studio full of her collection of vintage jeans was already perfectly her vibe and essence, so naturally we shot there!

We decided we wanted a little more moody tones, so we took advantage of the gorgeous window in her space that let in the most amazing natural light. We intentionally created lifestyle headshots that offered a ton of info about who she is and what she does and her clothing reflected her natural femininity and love of denim.

The Process

Melissa had a vision of what she was looking for, but wanted some support in bringing it all together. Through our collaborative creative process, we were able to plan out her vision in our pre-session call and make some game-time decisions on photo day.

It was quick start-to-finish process since Melissa needed photos, like, yesterday. While we didn't have time for a brand questionnaire and session planning call, we were able to chat wardrobe, lighting, and more via text, and agreed we would both feel into the moment and space to see what felt right during our photoshoot day.

On our photo day, we discovered that we were able to make photo magic happen by playing and riffing in the moment!

Results

Melissa’s photos turned out amazing! She was thrilled with the results and was able to use them for her interviews, website, and all over social media.

While typically photoshoots include a planning process with a questionnaire and planning session, sometimes the timing doesn’t allow for the exact steps that work well for another project or client. I’m happy to work with you and find the best strategy for your needs!
